LOS ANGELES--SS&C Technologies of Bloomfield, Connecticut is one of the founding investors of a joint venture that plans to provide portfolio management software, investment analytical systems, trading programs, risk management packages and other investment management tools to energy utilities and investors who will trade energy contracts as financial instruments.

The secondary market for these contracts will function much like the investment market for securitized mortgages in the US, says SS&C
