Beating Competition From Stockmate And Quotron, ADP Re-Signs Legg Mason

Legg Mason Inc., a Baltimore-based securities broker and investment bank, last week told its 1,000 quote-terminal users that ADP's FS Partner would be their next market data platform, say sources. Legg opted to keep ADP as its market data supplier -- but only after issuing a request for proposal and entertaining lively discussions with vendors Quotron and StockMate Financial Systems Inc.
Under a five-year contract that expired in the middle of this year, Legg has been using ADP's aging FS Plus
