The Solace Virtual Message Router uses the same software and API as the vendor's appliances, as well as the same administration framework for management, monitoring and security, officials say, allowing it to support all the same functions and protocols as the appliances themselves, and to run in any environment, whereas its appliances are best suited to being deployed within datacenters.
