Buy-Side Technology Awards 2013: Best Buy-Side Algorithmic/DMA Product—Deltix
The Deltix Product Suite comprises the QuantServer and QuantOffice software packages on an integrated basis. Supporting equities, foreign exchange (FX), futures and options, the QuantOffice platform allows for back-testing, powered by full market data, fundamentals, and digitized news, served by Deltix’s TimeBase data warehouse. QuantServer allows for live trading on a DMA basis, with order progression managed through its Trading Console interface.
In an area where speed is of the essence, Deltix stands out for having products managing the entire lifecycle of algorithmic development and execution on one platform, eliminating the need for plugging in other vendors. The power of QuantServer Architect, too, allows users to quickly configure venues and market data providers, reducing time-to-market in an environment where strategies need to be adapted, simulated and deployed in short time periods.
In terms of its testing capabilities, too, the suite allows for Level 1 and Level 2 tick history, along with visual analytics capabilities that allow developers to overlay tick-by-tick data with order generations and executions. Keeping current, the addition of sentiment data gives users the ability to finesse input from emerging areas of trading indicators and incorporate that into their algorithms, should they wish to.
Algorithmic trading is an ultra-competitive form of an overwhelmingly competitive industry. That doesn’t mean, though, that proper testing and safety doesn’t have its place alongside the need for alacrity. This is something that Deltix has realized, filling an important market niche in the process.
Deltix Reaction:
“We are delighted and honored to win this award. We maintain massive investment in research and development for our quantitative, direct market access, and algorithmic products and it is very rewarding to win this award in recognition of this investment.”
—Ilya Gorelik, CEO and founder, Deltix
