Can you afford not to be serious about ASPs?

A damp squib! That's pretty much how the ASP market's performance will be remembered from the last time vendors and consultants announced that this was the software model and delivery mechanism of the future. That was 18 months ago, and to be fair a number of successful ASPs have generated revenue for the vendors and value for their users, now the industry seems to have come full circle and it's ASP time all over again.

But this time it's different. Or that's what the consultants and analysts
