SIA Technology Management Conference: No New Song and No New Dance

SIA 2001 TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE REVIEW

NEW YORK--The Securities Industry Association reported 8,093 people in attendance at this year’s SIA Technology Management Conference and Exhibit--a slight downturn from last year’s 8,600. Exhibitors numbered approximately 150, the same as last year. Further reminders of last year came from the phrase on everyone’s lips: straight through processing.

Yet a number of STP vendors observed that many firms--particularly on the buy side--are holding off on their T+1/STP plans as they wait for more
