ARTHUR LEVITT JOINS THE CARLYLE GROUP
The Carlyle Group has appointed Arthur Levitt as senior adviser on issues relating to the firm’s private equity investment activities. He was slated to join Carlyle on May 1. Previously Levitt was the longest serving chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, serving from 1993 to 2001. Before joining the SEC, Levitt served as chairman of the New York City Economic Development Corp. from 1989 to 1993 and as chairman of the American Stock Exchange from
