ALBANY, New York--Microsoft may have its courtroom woes these days, but in spite of that, the Windows NT juggernaut gained another installation thanks to a software deal by one of the largest public pension plan sponsors in the US. The New York State Teachers Retirement Fund, with $76 billion in assets, had been using a Sun Microsystems Solaris-based portfolio management system since December 1995. But by the end of June, the pension plan sponsor will have unplugged that software and completed
