By licensing the Portia portfolio management system, Deutsche Asset Management became Thom son Investment Software's largest client, based on the total number of user seats: more than 350 users across three business units. Peter Grafunder, Deutsche Asset Management's managing director, confirmed that his firm was switching from ADP's Max data to Portia to manage its DM90 billion in assets under management. The value of the license was not disclosed. (October 9, 1998)
