Advent Software Inc.'s launch of its Geneva portfolio accounting system is the company's latest attempt to put itself squarely into the big leagues. One of its beta sites is Goldman Sachs' prime brokerage division, and Advent's management says the product is being pitched to managers that have at least $20 billion in assets under management.
