Salomon offers Fix testing via B2B ITS

LONDON -- To get buy-side clients up and running via the Fix protocol, the London branch of Citigroup’s Salomon Smith Barney (SSB) division has been using the hosted Fix testing gateway services of London-based B2B Information Technology Services (ITS) since February, says Kevin Houstoun, director of electronic equity trading at SSB.

SSB’s efforts reflect a growing consensus that sell-side firms should take on the responsibility of making it easier for their buy-side partners to become Fix
