Mark den Hollander is ING Investment Management's new chief risk officer.

ING Investment Management (ING IM), an asset management firm based in the Netherlands, has appointed its head of Implemented Client Solutions (ICS) Investment, Mark den Hollander, as chief risk officer.

The promotion, which will come into effect on June 1, will see den Hollander take over from Satish Bapat, who was performing the role on an interim basis alongside his work as chief financial officer.

den Hollander joined ING IM in 2009 as the head of investment solutions, having worked previously as the chief investment officer for structured solutions at Fortis Investments, an investment management company now merged with BNP Paribas.

"Mark's strong knowledge on both the asset and liability side of investment management, combined with his extensive leadership experience in a client-facing role, positions him very well for his new position as chief risk officer at ING IM, says Gilbert van Hassel, CEO at ING IM.
