Essentia Analytics, the London-based data analytics provider, has announced the appointment of two keys positions as expansion plans take shape.
Greg Wallace, formerly equities and quant specialist and founder of EQ International, joins Essentia as head of research, while James Ramirez, formerly of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, joins as the firm's CTO.
With over 25 years' experience in the Australian investment market, Wallace will focus on delivering valuable, actionable insights to end-users, from illustrations of behavioural biases, to investment process analytics.
As winner of the 2014 Best Data Analytics category in the Buy-Side Technology Awards, Essentia is worth keeping an eye on over the coming months, given that the firm has embarked on a phase of rapid growth in a sector likely to garner significant interest from the buy side as asset managers look to systematize the processes around their decision support.
"Essentia has reached a new phase of rapid growth, and James and Greg are just the people to take us forward, says Clare Flynn Levy, founder and CEO of Essentia.
"James brings to Essentia entrepreneurial thinking combined with best-practice professional standards and vast experience in building and leading global financial technology teams. Greg combines a great amount of experience and influence in the investment world with knowledge of what it really takes to improve performance and processes," she adds.
