Know your fund manager

The last thing any hedge fund client would want to discover is that their capital is being managed by someone like Amaranth's Brian Hunter; although in Hunter's defence, prior to Amaranth's blow-up his track record was blemish-free and nothing short of remarkable in terms of performance.

How can clients know with whom they are dealing? Is their money safe? It's hard to feel much sympathy if a major endowment loses a portion of its millions because it didn't perform its due diligence on its asset
