LONDON--All eyes will be on Reuters this week as it submits its results for 1999, which may prove to be a keystone year in setting the future direction of the company. It has been a year when Reuters has had to struggle with its role in dealing with the Internet and its many different business strands.

Many analysts as well as the media are expecting pointers on Reuters' long-term strategic direction and initiatives. The pressure will be on chief executive Peter Job to outline Reuters' strategy
