ESMA Clarifies EU Benchmark Index Rules
ESMA has published a Q&A intended to address some of the uncertainty surrounding benchmark index usage under the new Benchmark Regulation.
The Q&A addresses transitional provisions applicable to EU index providers who have produced benchmarks since at least June 30, 2016, and transitional provisions applicable to EU index providers who started to provide (or will begin providing) a benchmark between July 1, 2016 and Dec. 31, 2017.
