Patent Verdict Delays Hemscott Merger

The planned integration of UK fundamental data provider Hemscott with New York-based trading software vendor i-Deal has been delayed following a Pittsburgh court ruling in a patent lawsuit against i-Deal and Thomson Financial, a source familiar with the situation tells Inside Market Data.

The court ruled last month that Thomson and i-Deal had infringed the patent on a municipal bond electronic auction system developed by Grant Street Group (formerly known as MuniAuction), and awarded Grant Street
