Markit in Surprise MarketXS Deal

Dutch data and technology vendor MarketXS has been acquired by Markit, a UK-based credit data provider, for an undisclosed, mainly cash sum, it was announced last week.

Lance Uggla, chief executive of Markit, says the deal stems from Markit's interest in improving its technology, especially as customers are requesting different delivery methods. He says MarketXS's platform offers security, resilience and low latency, all of which will also help Markit comply with the EU's MiFID regulation. The
