Bloomberg used 2005 to focus on non-terminal products and particularly its long-awaiteddatafeed, PhatPipe.

The vendor announced that PhatPipe was available for beta testing in July (July25). At the time, officials said it would allow Bloomberg data to be used outsidethe Bloomberg Professional terminals.

The commercial details around PhatPipe, however, remained unclear. And rumorscirculated among market data managers that Bloomberg was trying to leverage itsData License agreements to pressure them
