Salomon Brothers Eyeing Alternatives To Q1000 Service

After issuing a request for proposal last December, Salomon Brothers Inc. has gathered proposals from a number of vendors anxious to replace as many as 800 of the firm's Quotron Q1000 terminals. Sources say Quotron's own Advantage AE service is still considered a lead candidate.

Salomon sought pricing proposals for two scenarios: 300 terminals at Salomon's 7 World Trade Center operation in New York, or 800 terminals comprising these 300 plus 500 at the firm's six outlying branches. In both cases
