Smith Barney Signs Seven-Year Contract With ADP, As Quotron Prepares To Fight Back

Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. last week signed a seven-year contract with Automatic Data Processing Inc. for some 4,200 FS Partner AF quote terminals to be installed at approximately 100 branches. Coming at the end of a trying year for Quotron, the deal strips the data vendor of its second-largest customer and some $9 to $11 million in annual revenue.

The leaner vendor is also meaner. A Quotron source says it
