S&P Outlines Product Updates

Standard & Poor's is making changes and enhancements to its product lineup in a bid to win new business, migrate to new technologies, and make the products more useful to existing clients.

Three weeks ago, the vendor added non-financial text data from Capital IQ, which S&P acquired last year (IMD, Sept. 13, 2004), to S&P's Compustat XpressFeed company information product. The changes mean that by adding codes to text data, quantitative analysts can now integrate qualitative information, such as
