PaineWebber Signs Multi-Year Quote Services Contract With Quotron

Quotron Systems Inc. and PaineWebber Inc. finally announced a multi-year renewal agreement covering Quotron's contract to provide PaineWebber with quote service. Under the new agreement, PaineWebber is expected to switch controller device gradually to the IBM RS/6000 from Quotron's Q1000, and use IBM microcomputers rather than dumb terminals as user workstations.

The five-year contract is valued at about $60 million to Quotron, sources close to the deal say. PaineWebber paid
