MCM Gets Busy: To Merge With Cera, Plans Acquisitions

McCarthy Crisanti & Maffei is on the move. The commentary service provider has agreed to merge with Cambridge Energy Research Associates (Cera); the combined company will be known as Global Decisions Group. The new company will make an IPO in the next 18 to 24 months. In addition, MCM expects to announce at least one acquisition by October, with others possibly to come later.

Under the merger, MCM and Cera will continue as ongoing entities and will be managed independently as wholly owned
