SIFMA Calls for Data Fee Reform

As Inside Market Data went to press last week, the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association published a letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission, supporting a review of the SEC's decision to approve fees for market data from NYSE-Arca, and calling for a reform of the way exchanges are allowed to charge for data.

The letter accuses exchanges such as NYSE-Arca, which have moved in recent years to for-profit status and see market data as an important contributor to exchange
