LSE Unveils New SEDOL System

The London Stock Exchange is introducing a new global numbering system to help reduce the number of failed cross-border trades, as reported in Inside Market Data in July. The exchange’s existing seven-character SEDOL code--which identifies a security on an exchange’s daily official list--will be updated to alphanumeric and fully extended to market level.
