An initiative to integrate the City of London's disparate financial networks has been triggered by the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists, a trade association. Following its study of how London's financial institutions converse electronically, WCIT determined that a project to unify networks--such as those of Reuters, Swift and the London Stock Exchange's Sequence system--would offer technical advantages, as well as save money.
