Thomson Reuters Bows News Analytics for Fund Administrators, Back Office

Thomson Reuters has added news analytics to its DataScope Select platform for intraday and end-of-day snapshot data, to allow fund administrators and staff performing back-office functions to correlate unusual price or trading activity against market-moving news.

The vendor released a “soft launch” of the analytics, dubbed Referential News Service, at the end of January, testing the product with several unnamed trading firms’ back offices for functions such as post-trade analysis and compliance
