Equinix Opens Second Phase of New Shanghai Datacenter
Datacenter and hosting provider Equinix has completed the second phase of its fifth IBX facility in Shanghai, SH5-II, which was acquired via the vendor's $230.5 million purchase of local datacenter provider Asia Tone in July 2012 (IMD, May 7, 2012).
The datacenter is being built in three phases, the first of which went live last year, providing space for 200 server cabinets -- though when the third phase is complete, the facility will provide space for 900 cabinets over 80,000 square feet.
