De Smedt to Head Icap Index Biz
Icap Information Services, the data arm of interdealer broker Icap, has hired Jan de Smedt as global head of indexes, responsible for developing the vendor's index business, including its trade-backed, volume-weighted indexes launched over the past 12 months in partnership with RepoFundsRate and the Tankard Index.
Previously, de Smedt was senior director of licensing and sales at S&P Indices, prior to which he was vice president of European sales at now-defunct asset manager Refco Alternative
