Equinix Readies Five New Datacenters Worldwide

The new datacenters will serve the needs of an audience that is less latency-sensitive but requires a large IT footprint.

Cumulatively, the five new datacenters cost around $227 million to build and will add nearly 4,200 cabinets of rack space and more than a million square feet to Equinix's existing global datacenter footprint. Each of the datacenters also provides additional microwave capacity.

On March 9, Equinix will bring the first of its five new datacenters online in the New York metropolitan area, located at Equinix's datacenter campus in Secaucus, New Jersey, which also houses its NY2, NY4 and NY5
