SEC Updates XBRL Filings Tool

Upgraded version will be faster and easier to use, SEC officials say.

The new version of the Edgar Renderer produces backwards-compatible renderings faster than its predecessor, and is built on open-source software "widely used for XBRL processing, thus making it easier to extend for incorporation into filing tools, SEC officials say.

The XBRL Previewer─which allows users to test how an XBRL submission will appear on the SEC's website─using the latest Renderer can be accessed at https://datapreview.sec.gov/previewer.

Only users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
