SEC Appoints Ramarathnam to Credit Ratings Watchdog

Ramarathnam, a 10-year SEC staffer, will take up her new role later this month.

Ramarathnam spent the past seven years as chief of staff for SEC commissioner Luis Aguilar, and previously served as counsel to commissioner Roel Campos and senior counsel in the Office of the General Counsel and in the Division of Investment Management.

Before joining the SEC in 2005, she was an associate at an unnamed law firm, focusing on securities and investment law. Based in Washington, DC, she reports to Thomas Butler, director of the Office of Credit Ratings.
