Gissing Adds Speed, Functions To ConteX Contributions Tool

Version 4.0 of Contex includes a redesigned underlying data architecture that utilizes a proprietary shared memory inter-processor communication (IPC) to speed up data transfer instead of the IPC contained within the Windows operating system. Whereas the Windows IPC can create message queues as data is passed from one process to another, Gissing's shared memory IPC stores data in an area where it can be accessed by all processes, says Graham Legg, director of development and support at Gissing.
