Rapid-Fire Appointment Sees O'Malia Take Isda Top Spot

US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) commissioner Scott O'Malia has been confirmed as the new CEO of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (Isda), less than 48 hours after his resignation from the US regulator was made public.

O'Malia tendered his resignation to President Barack Obama on Monday, and will depart the CFTC come August. He will assume his post at the head of the industry body on August 18.
