Swift Shuffles Executives' Domains

Javier Pérez-Tasso becomes chief executive for Americas

Javier Perez-Tasso will be chief executive, Americas at Swift, effective September 1

Financial industry messaging cooperative Swift has elevated three executives in its management team and shifted some of these executives' regional responsibilities.

Effective September 1, Luc Meurant, who leads Swift's Financial Crime Compliance Services team in Swift's marketing unit, will report directly to Gottfried Leibbrandt, CEO of Swift. Christian Sarafidis has been named chief marketing officer of Swift; he currently serves as head of Western Europe, Middle East and Africa, and deputy chief executive, EMEA, for Swift.

Swift's previous chief marketing officer, Javier Pérez-Tasso, will take over as chief executive of the Americas and global head of securities from Chris Church, who is leaving Swift after seven years there. Pérez-Tasso is also taking on leadership of the UK, Ireland and Nordic markets from Alain Raes, who will continue leading in EMEA and Asia-Pacific for Swift.
