UK Regulator Mulls LEI Filing Requirement

The FCA proposes that issuers provide LEIs for regulated information under the Transparency Directive

In its latest Quarterly Consultation paper, the FCA proposes new rules to chapter six of the Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules sourcebook, to comply with the European Commission's Transparency Directive technical standards.

The regulator encouraged issuers to comply with the LEI provisions from Jan. 1 so that their data will be searchable on the European Electronic Access Point web portal when it becomes operational by 2018. This puts pressure on issuers to apply for LEIs, if they
