Kidder Peabody Tests Rs/6000s From ADP, Quotron As Vendors Slug It Out

With a remaining 18 months on its quote-terminal contract with Quotron Systems Inc., Kidder Peabody & Co. has installed an FS-Partner system from Automatic Data Processing Inc. for evaluation at its Springfield, Mass., branch. Meanwhile, Quotron is installing its IBM RS/6000-based system at Kidder's Chicago branch.

With some 2,500 Quotron terminals in place, Kidder has been the site of increasingly aggressive bidding by ADP for the firm's quote business, which is currently worth some $5 million
