SPC Securities Withdraws From Electronic Trading

After several unsuccessful forays into the trading room, SPC Securities Services Corp. has decided the back office isn't such a bad place after all -- especially since Black Monday has highlighted the need for real-time risk management systems.

A subsidiary of Los Angeles-based Security Pacific Corp. SPCSS is abandoning efforts to offer electronic trading facilities for government securities and plans to concentrate on transaction processing, clearance and settlement.
