RJ O'Brien Builds Out Futures Capabilities

On his recent trip to Chicago, Waters news editor Anthony Malakian met with RJ O'Brien's Matthew Rees, who holds the title of chief relationship officer. RJ O'Brien is the largest futures brokerage in the country and Rees says he's seeing a return of speculative and hedge trading in market.

As a result, the firm has expanded its business by opening an office in Houston, TX; hiring nearly two dozen institutional brokers; and investing in its infrastructure by building a new trading floor. Here's what Rees had to say about what trends he is seeing and where the futures market is heading.
