Reuters Acquires Application Networks

TRADING FLOOR TECHNOLOGIES

LONDON—Reuters is further embracing the service-oriented architecture (SOA) trend with plans to integrate its Kondor+ technology with JRisk after it announced its acquisition of Application Networks last week.

Reuters acquired the London and Palo Alto, Calif.-based risk management software provider for $41 million in cash. Application Networks developed the cross-asset derivatives trading platform, JRisk. The platform is used by banks such as JPMorgan Chase, Société Générale, UBS and Wachovia.
