Sun Microsystems Promises Linux Desktops

SAN FRANCISCO--Sun Microsystems intends to deliver a Linux-based desktop system within the next six months that will be reminiscent of its Sun Ray diskless desktop platform initiative of a few years back, say Sun officials.
The announcement, at the SunNetwork 2002 Conference and Pavilion held in San Francisco at the Moscone Center, follows closely Sun’s entry-level Linux server announcement last month (TTW, Aug. 12).
