NexTrade Becomes Early Adopter of .NET for Trading

CLEARWATER, Fla.—The NexTrade ECN has rolled out a trading platform written on Microsoft’s .NET platform, making it among the early adopters of the technology for trading purposes. The trading system went live about three weeks ago with about 10 pilot clients, says chief technology officer (CTO) Paul Pretto.

NexTrade was already a Microsoft-based shop, running on Windows 2000, written with a combination of Visual Basic on the front end and C++ on the back end. The new front end is written in
