WestLB to Oust SunGard, Front, Murex with Summit Extensions

TRADING FLOOR TECHNOLOGIES

LONDON--German bank WestLB will replace major incumbent trading applications from Murex, Front Capital and SunGard by extending its contract with Summit Systems to cover more than 600 traders in London, Tokyo, New York and Dusseldorf.

The front-to-back office software systems consolidation is designed to cut the costs of supporting multiple technologies and vendors, and appears to mark an end to best-of-breed spending by WestLB.
