BATS Receives UK Approval for Chi-X Europe Deal

BATS Global Markets has received the assent of the UK Competition Commission for its proposed acquisition of Chi-X Europe.

BATS entered into a definitive agreement in February 2011 to acquire the venue, which is the largest in Europe by market share and notional value traded. The Competition Commission is Britain's home antitrust authority, which investigated possible causes for concern over a monopoly if the acquisition were to go ahead.
