After 22 years at the software giant, Mich Mathews will support the FX trading services portal's brand positioning.
She joins Oanda's five-member board, led by chairman Kittu Kolluri, after having retired from Microsoft in 2011, where she oversaw the Central Marketing Group with a budget of nearly a billion dollars. She will bring that experience to bear in helping to guide Oanda's marketing efforts.
"We are delighted to welcome Mich Mathews to Oanda's Board of Directors. Her outstanding professional achievements and industry knowledge will serve our company well," says Kolluri of the firm, which offers direct access to pairs trading in more than 90 currencies and precious metals.
Mathews, meanwhile, says she was attracted to the new role by Oanda's "great bench of engineering talent" and priority towards continuous innovation in FX, and the opportunity to learn in the financial services space, having previously focused on Microsoft's consumer and personal computing product roll-outs.
