The BSC proposal, published on Friday September 25, comes on the back of a re-examination of the Kay Review of UK Equity Markets and Long-Term Decision Making (Kay Review), a study carried out by Professor John Kay, published in July 2012, which examines how UK companies' performance can be improved and returns can be made to savers. A large thrust of the 112-page report deals with making equity markets target long-term performance for the benefit of end-investors, as opposed to short-term gains
