Is FTEN For Real?

Doug Kittelsen, chief technology officer, FTEN

It seems that the industry has been talking abut real-time, pre-trade risk management for quite some time now, but when you scratch below the surface of vendors' "real-time" claims, it seems that real-time means near-time or even intra-day—which pretty much means post-trade—which, if you're a high-frequency shop, isn't much help at all.

Well one technology vendor, FTEN, claims to have the ability to risk-check all orders, even those of high-frequency trading organizations, before they're fired into the marketplace. Doug Kittelsen, CTO of FTEN, explains to Victor Anderson how his firm's technology makes this possible.
