Alternative investment transparency in the spotlight

LONDON -- The Investor Risk Committee of the International Association of Financial Engineers and Capital Market Risk Advisors released the findings of a survey of institutional investors, hedge funds and funds of funds on hedge fund transparency and valuation practices on January 15.

Seventy-three percent of hedge funds believe that disclosing detailed position-level information compromises the performance of a hedge fund. Only 20% of funds of funds believe this to be the case.
