Prudential Equity Builds LAN For 40 Traders, Managers

Prudential Equity Management Associates has gone live with a new data distribution platform at its Newark, N.J., headquarters. The heart of the new system, which is used by traders, managers and researchers, is a local area network that links 40 486-based Compaq Computer Inc. personal computers.

A unit of Prudential Insurance, Pru Equity Management has $14 billion under management. The group's holdings are mainly in equities, although it also invests in convertible bonds and derivative securities
